times when three equals to one.

indeed. pages of books do smell good. kind of addictive. well yeah, took three days to finish a five hundred pager, describing a day's events and misfortunes. I salute Dan Brown.
it is very true that books take you anywhere around the world, even to Timbuktu. some take you to extraterrestrial regions where your imagination roams free; others take you back to the 19th and 20th century during The Great Depression and the Industrial Revolution. you'd be amazed how hard ingenious criminals plan, months ahead, to rob gold worth billions of pounds in a train, or how terrible things can go wrong when a space shuttle's return carrying bacteria from outer space kills a town-full of people. sometimes even those whom you called dearest could plan your death whilst holidaying in an Oriental Express, without you suspecting they loathed you so much. impressive nonetheless.

a scene in Dickens' Hard Times. from a chapter:Starlight.

what matters is not only the joy of having finished reading something, but also the things you discover, insights you have gained along the way.

Until then, savour the scent of newspapers, magazines or novels whatsoever!
buhbye!

some not-looney-at-all tunes. this. and this.

pulau ketam day trip 6/1/10

And so there were 7 of us.

we alighted at Subang Jaya station to wait for 2 other friends before heading to Port Klang.

arrived at the terminal and found that the day was perfectly sunny ; perfect for photo-taking but bad for the skin.

Pulau Ketam Jetty.

different shades of blue : sky, hut, boat, sea

abandoned house?

introducing our guide-of-the-day.

along the main 'street'

houses. all blue.

take us where you lead.

fishing village.

nets and bicycles : the must-haves?

lost and not-willing-to-be-found ?

we walked, and walked. a co-guide came along.

wondered how it felt like to study on a very very quiet island. practically the whole island supports itself on mud and concrete. pretty astounding heh?

yes they've got lots of dogs, tagged or untagged.

getting excited about the ATM at the only bank there.

wooden walkway to each of the houses. looks unstable but it felt fine.

two girls looking at candies just after school. we just had lunch.

still walking.

went to a workshop where boats are built.

two bows.

sheesh. wrong focus. haha.

Noah's Ark?

Had ice shavings before heading back to the jetty. seen here are students boarding a boat full of their friends.

Till then, byebye!

What has a language got to do with a religion? You might wonder. It's embarrassing to see how people are so sensitive and easily agitated by the very little things, even something so personal like one's religion. Yeah it's true Malaysia has been getting unwanted attention for all the wrong reasons.

The main battle field for good is not the open ground of the public arena but the small clearing of each heart.

bamboozlement!

July 26 - CG outing to Batu Caves

group photo before the 272 steps

very very sunny it was.

once inside, we savoured cool air... ah! how refreshing! lots of tourists and locals there, too!

the 'cave-in' in Batu Caves.

random shot upward.

members of Versacht!

August 1-2 - Fraser's Hill Family Retreat! brrr....

very spooky entrance. we stayed here for the one night's trip. this place was booked by my aunt, and we got it FOC!! how nice : ) it's got a very colonial architecture... very comfortable! you see lots and lots of flowers, with credits to the caretaker of the bungalow... very pretty flowers!

this one looks like raspberries eh??

didn't find out what species they are... so it's like meeting someone you're familiar with but you've forgotten their name... agh... hahahah.

that's the golf course in Fraser's Hill!

this empty inn is another spooky one... couldn't help but imagine there's something lurking inside the picture!! eeeek...

this was where we bought some ice cream to cool down. the afternoon was hot and the air still.

stopping by Ye Olde Smokehouse to take pictures. my uncle's taking his time taking pictures of the place and the spouse!

Now, this is spooky. the dining hall in Maybank Lodge!!

front porch here.

flowers around the compound.

this one's outside the bungalow... near Alan's Water (a place to paddle boats).

flowers at a nearby nursery.

a shot from another bungalow.

this is Brinchang Bungalow.

Living hall of Maybank Lodge.

again, front porch.

fish eye view? minus the fish! haha

the pavement leading to the backyard. on your right is a tennis court, but without the net... But i doubt it's a tennis court... futsal maybe...

the view of the dining hall from the kitchen.

Back at home packing 2 presents for 2 lovely friends.

Another 'no-name' flower. but this one's at home. It blooms at midnight! Sounds ridiculous but it is true! there we were, the whole family waiting for it to bloom from....

this... to....

this in about 2 hours.

makes you gasp at how wonderful the Almighty's creations are...despite the irregular flowering seasons.

November 8 - Charity Walk/Jog/Wheel-a-thon with the disabled

sunrise!

the sunlight stings my eyes!

November 12 - Grad-day!

Upper 6 : Arts. KienWee's with us : )

the juniors. not all are here. some are busy with duties...

it's surprising we don't mind studying with dusty window panes!! hahaha: D

with the classroom stuck in the middle of the school compound, it's very hot and stuffy without shade from huge trees... sigh... such is the norm in smch! but that makes it feel like you're in chong hwa... Right, guys??

morning sunlight.

under the roof of the students' activity centre.

pale sunlight plus coloured hair.

we had 2 events that day. one is the grad ceremony. the other's a farewell ceremony for the headmistress.

Another day at home. two birds lepak-ed around the compound just outside the dining area.

hours later they were seen frolicking outside my room...

It's been a long long time since the last update... so here you go... a picture-full post from me to you... : ) Enjoy!

*while reading, take a peek at this site. it's a comic animation. very funny but meaningfull. those with pets, you might need to consider this seriously especially this Christmas season where food is involved! hahaha..

until then, happy holidays and merry christmas!
God bless : )
