bomb-astik!

time is impatient. it's been almost two weeks
the fumes of garlic, one reeks
chopping leeks; repairing leaks
thank the lord, geek isn't sick!

in the bright daylight
ah! even in the darkest of nights
it's such a comfort they bring delight!

a tailwind, perhaps to fly a kite?

sixty days. to spend - many ways.
live 'em like the blue jays
gay, yet never astray

Alas! remember your outlays.

roadtrips, foodheaps
it's always nice to have them
with the best of peeps!

Seems like Year Two
for this here Ngoo
wasn't all
"Boo..." and "Goo..."

haha.

through trials and (near) revivals
I'm sure we will all prevail!
wail not!

with the Big Man
how can we be frail?

blessed, indeed.
no, I don't kid.
Here's to these quirky friendships.

Ridiculously serious.
Seriously ridiculous.

the past year: what the dog saw

07/31: Orientation month - at the queen's
At this point of time, the freshies just got tired
of one whole week of orientation,
and off they went to escape from the place we call
menara gading.
08/30: Merdeka countdown - at the Times
Still remembered the pandan flavoured putu mayam we had
before visiting the still-new Penang Times Square,
where the hbp students had
their performances and artworks publicized,
as part of a programme in a concert.
08/31: Morning sky
Sight to behold. Taken before a hike
to a not-so-near beach, at my very own residence.

08/31: En route to monkey beach
This is Muka Head. A place for biology/marine biology
students to carry out research,
sadly, during the holidays.

Okay, after rushing through group projects, mid-terms,
online quizzes and finally, final exams,
it's funny how a bunch of students would want to be
voluntarily put into another race,
where more than 20,000 people compete.
11/21: Catching the sunrise in 10K fun run
- from the queen's to the bridge then back
This is what you get by paying rm15,
provided if you run there. Haha.
11/22: Early presents from friends : )
Happy moments worth living for that make you go "aww..."
sueanne, tienhui, audrey, stephanie,
fongwan, waiquan, jiaowei
Many thanks! : )

11/23: Discovery of a hidden nook - at komtar
...with the assistance of a Penangite friend.
get cheap felt, here!
11/23: A necessary yet, non-reliable,
mode of transport

11/23: Noon at the queen's
11/23: English tea; un-English way

11/26: To the town - by the streets
All through semester one we never really took time to
walkabout, lose our way, and just dive into
the many quiet, quaint, little streets.
11/26: Old - as seen in new; First Avenue

12/10: Give us this day our daily bread
- a private getaway tucked in the corners of KL
...where friendships were rebuilt? refurbished, I'd say. heh.
12/10: Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive
those who've trespassed against us

12/10: Refuge
12/10: Escapade
12/11: Celebrated celebration, as quiet as it may seem

12/11: The undiscovered
12/11: Lowly, but unappreciated

camps. christmas. melt-in-your-mouth shortbread.
molten chocolate cakes. last-minute packing.
one month. gone, baby. gone.

semester two.
like it or not.
91 days to live through.

Okay, I'll leave the rest as it is. No use killing time documenting all these if I'm being unproductive.
hahah. Can't wait to be back home!
and, looking forward to get the new camera, Pam! :D

wheeee!

and, oh, it's good to end the day
with some chuck-time before bedtime.

Erratum.

I'm afraid there's been an error.

Make that Episode 4. Or even 6.
gahahaha.

Well, who cares?
desserts for stress.

so we don't end up like...

"I'm dinner.
What's for hungry?"
-credits to Everybody Loves Raymond
three papers to go!
stats. what a woe!
how would I know
if we'll never have a row?
unless you're just a 'touch-and-go'

anyway

the clouds are low
they cast no shadow

Well, I better be off

because I'm no edgar allan poe.
or even marilyn monroe.

haha. what folly!

you can have a kit-kat; not the break

back home for a two-week raya break.

call it what you like but I think this is no break at all.

but alas! there's no place like
h o m e.

missing pandan infused putu mayam though...

oui!

Pavarotti, Luciano

You don't need any brains to listen to music.

but... I guess this varies when it comes to which kind of music we're listening to and with what purpose the music serves as.
what's the point of listening without comprehending? or should the quote be modified to 'You don't need any brains to hear music'? makes sense, no?

nevertheless, it is a totally different situation when we treat music as a tool to unwind, and just empty the mind of all the clutter. haha. and that IS what most stressed out people need, eh? : )

take me back to the good ol' days: Hillsong United's All I Need Is You

okay, got to search for quarterly figures for Proton Holdings Bhd. FA project analysis. aaagh!

min, signing out!

magazine: ammo or literature?

well I've got both. haha

recently bought a Newsweek and a Time. (not cheap wei!)  Was reluctant to subscribe due to complications that might occur if I we're to do so, because I'd have to go check the letterbox every week! haha. Well at least we know what IS going on around the world right... I'm sure RM20 once in a while won't burn my pocket! That's for sure. It's never stupid to invest in things that's going to be your writing ideas :D

now, you might be wondering what about the ammo? well, let's just keep it as it is lah aight... they're buried six feet under. way.... down. haha. not good to get angry and jeopardize my blood pressure on a cloudy day when any other day is scorching, melting hot!
It's still raining here and hopefully it'll last the whole day lah!

convocation week is almost over and it's back to routine next Monday! ...agh! back to projects, tutorials, lectures(pun definitely intended!) and.... buses!(phew!)

gotta get back to homework.
g'day mates!

*taken last week from a hotel room in Georgetown

briefs

Diderot, Denis
Good music is very close to primitive language.

Ah! That's probably true since it gives you goose pimples!! hahaha.
Anyway... doing fine here in penang. Weather: a tad too hot apparently.

kena tahan jugak lah, kan?

yup, class starts tomorrow, officially! not that I'm really really looking forward to it, but yeah...
it's back to studying again. Well then, clock's ticking... signing out!

take care, won't you? : )

undeniably true.

Wilde, Oscar
The books that the world calls immoral are the books that show the world its own shame.
Just a little thought of the day. haha.
Stocking up for July. So much to do, yet it seems like nothing.
Nonetheless, to those who are still waiting for their IPTA postings:
all the best!

... and yes, Carmen, we're looking forward to meeting you both soon! : D

tanggal tiga;bulan tujuh

June is no boon
Like a trip to the moon.

Prepping up;
a yellow umbrella,
in case the clouds throw up.

Yup,
my time is up.

July's probably my trip to the moon.

beauty unnoticed #2.

dense-ity.

perils of OCD.

Nonetheless, it was sheer joy to return to the old days, of rushing through lunch and getting to class on time, just to get the best seats, and the little lovely things we often take for granted.

There is a serious defect in the thinking of someone who wants -- more than anything else -- to become rich. As long as they don't have the money, it'll seem like a worthwhile goal. Once they do, they'll understand how important other things are -- and have always been.

bamboozlement!

July 26 - CG outing to Batu Caves

group photo before the 272 steps

very very sunny it was.

once inside, we savoured cool air... ah! how refreshing! lots of tourists and locals there, too!

the 'cave-in' in Batu Caves.

random shot upward.

members of Versacht!

August 1-2 - Fraser's Hill Family Retreat! brrr....

very spooky entrance. we stayed here for the one night's trip. this place was booked by my aunt, and we got it FOC!! how nice : ) it's got a very colonial architecture... very comfortable! you see lots and lots of flowers, with credits to the caretaker of the bungalow... very pretty flowers!

this one looks like raspberries eh??

didn't find out what species they are... so it's like meeting someone you're familiar with but you've forgotten their name... agh... hahahah.

that's the golf course in Fraser's Hill!

this empty inn is another spooky one... couldn't help but imagine there's something lurking inside the picture!! eeeek...

this was where we bought some ice cream to cool down. the afternoon was hot and the air still.

stopping by Ye Olde Smokehouse to take pictures. my uncle's taking his time taking pictures of the place and the spouse!

Now, this is spooky. the dining hall in Maybank Lodge!!

front porch here.

flowers around the compound.

this one's outside the bungalow... near Alan's Water (a place to paddle boats).

flowers at a nearby nursery.

a shot from another bungalow.

this is Brinchang Bungalow.

Living hall of Maybank Lodge.

again, front porch.

fish eye view? minus the fish! haha

the pavement leading to the backyard. on your right is a tennis court, but without the net... But i doubt it's a tennis court... futsal maybe...

the view of the dining hall from the kitchen.

Back at home packing 2 presents for 2 lovely friends.

Another 'no-name' flower. but this one's at home. It blooms at midnight! Sounds ridiculous but it is true! there we were, the whole family waiting for it to bloom from....

this... to....

this in about 2 hours.

makes you gasp at how wonderful the Almighty's creations are...despite the irregular flowering seasons.

November 8 - Charity Walk/Jog/Wheel-a-thon with the disabled

sunrise!

the sunlight stings my eyes!

November 12 - Grad-day!

Upper 6 : Arts. KienWee's with us : )

the juniors. not all are here. some are busy with duties...

it's surprising we don't mind studying with dusty window panes!! hahaha: D

with the classroom stuck in the middle of the school compound, it's very hot and stuffy without shade from huge trees... sigh... such is the norm in smch! but that makes it feel like you're in chong hwa... Right, guys??

morning sunlight.

under the roof of the students' activity centre.

pale sunlight plus coloured hair.

we had 2 events that day. one is the grad ceremony. the other's a farewell ceremony for the headmistress.

Another day at home. two birds lepak-ed around the compound just outside the dining area.

hours later they were seen frolicking outside my room...

* * * * *

It's been a long long time since the last update... so here you go... a picture-full post from me to you... : ) Enjoy!
